Francisco Regi 'Papa' Morales
Francisco Regi Morales was born in Bejucal, Cuba on June 16, 1916. He left the home of his aunt, Candelaria Morales, with his mother, Maria Cristina Morales y Gonzales, on October 4, 1924 to immigrate to Tampa. After disembarking from the SS Cuba, they headed to the house of his uncle, Jorge Hernandez.

Raymond arrived in the Port of Tampa in 1924 with his mother and brother from Havana, Cuba, where he was born on June 16, 1916. Consuelo was born in Tampa on February 28, 1910.
Raymond and Consuelo fled to New York City to share their love for each other and to raise their family and faced tragedy twice before leaving for California. They were married in 1943 in Elkton, Maryland before he volunteered for service with the US Navy during World War II. They had nine children through this marriage. Consuelo had previously been married and had four children from that marriage.
Following the death of Nana's son Sergio by an NYC detective, Ramon moved his family to California with a cross-country road trip.
Ramon filed his first papers for naturalization as a US Citizen on Sep 20, 1954, with part of the filing for citizenship being permission to change his name to Raymond Francis Morgan.
He took his oath of naturalization on Apr 10, 1959.
Consuelo Carmine 'Nana' Lopez
Consuelo Carmine Lopez was born in Tampa, Florida on February 28, 1910. In 1935 she left Tampa with Ramon Morales for New York City and settled there before their first daughter was born. June Ramona Rennie Morales was born on October 19, 1935 and she was the fifth child that Consuelo had birthed. She and Ramon would expand their family with eight additional children. After the death of her son Sergio, the family moved from New York City to California, where the youngest daughter was born in 1953.
